The state capital of Potsdam is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continuously improve usability for all and apply the appropriate accessibility standards.
The accessibility statement applies to the website cities-safer-haefen.de and cities-of-safe-harbours.eu.
The state capital Potsdam is making every effort to make its website cities-safer-haefen.de and cities-of-safe-harbours.eu in accordance with the Brandenburg Equal Opportunities for Disabled Persons Act (BbgBGG) and the Brandenburg Barrier-Free Information Technology Ordinance (BbgBITV) in conjunction with the Barrier-free Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0) to make them accessible without barriers.
The basis for accessibility are the internationally valid Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) at conformity level AA and the European standard EN 301 549Version 3.1.1. For PDF documents, the international standard PDF/UA is also observed.

Videos:
- Not all recorded videos have synchronous subtitles or audio description or full text alternatives in context.
Order of page content:
- Some page contents are not prepared in such a way that they can be read out by screen readers in a comprehensible order or accessed in the correct order using the keyboard.
Use of colors:
- Some content can only be interpreted or used through the perception of color.
Keyboard:
- Some functions and content can only be used with the mouse, not with the keyboard. Some cannot be accessed from the keyboard in mobile view.
Moving Content:
- Moving content (sliders) cannot be paused or hidden.
Syntax and ARIA attributes:
- Within the website there are errors in the HTML syntax.
- Various navigation areas are not yet sufficiently enriched with ARIA attributes to uniquely identify them for screen readers.
- Some interactive controls do not yet contain ARIA attributes to allow their names and roles to be determined programmatically.
- The visible labeling of some controls does not contain this designation in the programmatically accessible name.
- Terms or sections in other languages are not marked with the language attribute in the source text.

- The purpose of some links can only be determined by the context, not by the link text itself.
PDF documents:
- Not all PDF documents comply with accessibility requirements.
Plain Language:
- The expansion to include the menu item "Easy Language" will take place in the summer of 2021.
Sign Language:
- There is currently no content available in sign language.

Enforcement proceedings
If you are not satisfied with the processing of your request or if you do not receive an answer from the above-mentioned contact option within a period of three weeks, you can submit a corresponding application to the Enforcement Body of the State of Brandenburg, established at the Ministry of Social Affairs, Health, Integration and Consumer Protection of the State of Brandenburg - State Disability Commissioner, for a review of the regulations and measures mentioned in the Accessibility Statement. The enforcement body checks the legal validity of the application from the point of view of content and, in individual cases, orders a technical review of the website by the monitoring body for accessibility of web and application technologies in the state of Brandenburg.
The enforcement body according to § 4 para. 3 BbgBITV has the task of settling disputes between people with disabilities and public bodies of the state of Brandenburg, on the subject of accessibility in IT. The enforcement procedure is free of charge. No legal counsel needs to be involved.
